Just two weeks after coming back to the US, a voicemail from Natalie greeted me on my cell phone. Her voice sounded hopeful and pleasant. She and Sean were planning a very small, very casual vow exchange on the Saturday over Labor Day weekend and she had found my website while searching for photographers. The request came last minute, but she was hoping I might be available to come photograph their small family event.
The voicemail both surprised and delighted me. I hadn’t started booking work again yet (in fact we didn’t even have a place to live yet), but I figured it was as good a time as any to get back into the flow of photography. I called her back and agreed to shoot their event at Chautauqua Park in Boulder. As it turns out, this little ceremony was the perfect reintroduction to wedding photography. A beautiful setting, gorgeous weather, and a stylish and photogenic bride and groom – not to mention their two adorable kiddos and overly friendly family – what else could you ask for?
Chautauqua Park couldn’t have been looking more beautiful than it was last Saturday. It’s no surprise the place was plum full of hikers enjoying the perfect weather.
Natalie and Sean have two little people – Ky (5 years) and London (8 months.) They were both dressed to the nines and looking adorable. Ky was eager to help the acoustic guitarist with his job before the ceremony. For a ceremony that came together with just two weeks of planning, Natalie did an amazing job. She and Sean both looked fantastic, and the setting tucked beneath a shady tree in the park was just perfect. There was so much laughter during the ceremony – I love the sense of humor these two have.
That’s Natalie’s mom holding baby London and watching the vow exchange – such a sweet moment.
After the ceremony we quickly snapped family photos with all the attendees before a quick portrait session with Natalie and Sean and their adorable little family.I wish I’d had hours with this cute troupe! Such a photogenic family.A few shots of just mom and dad…aka the bride and groom! These two just make it look easy…
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I just love being a part of small, intimate weddings. (Like this one, and this one, and this one, just to name a few!) I’m honored to have been a part of Natalie and Sean’s ceremony. Congrats you two!
