Luna

I think the photos speak for themselves – Luna is an adorable puppy.  She’s four months old, and her interests include being chased around the tree, eating random sticks in the yard, and napping.  It’s a good life for this pup.

Luna has already been given a good home by a friend of mine, who found her through Colorado Puppy Rescue and will probably spoil her in the best way possible.  So stop thinking about stealing her (like I was) – go adopt one of your own :)

Happy Tuesday!

A Little Press for John + Jenny

I usually post when my images are being published in a magazine, but I haven’t really mentioned when they are featured in digital format.  Well, why not?  Wedding blogs are probably more popular than wedding magazines these days, right?

So congratulations to John and Jenny!  Their stylish winter wedding was featured in two parts on Couture Colorado, here and here,  and also again on Engaged and Inspired via the Landlocked Bride in her guest post here.

I always love when I can share some of the beautiful details from weddings I photograph.  Thanks for being willing to share your big day, Jenny and John!

Assistant Search

Wedding season is upon me, and I am in need of a good assistant!

So what does an assistant do?  The job involves holding lights and reflectors, helping carry equipment, helping pose and adjust during portraits, and a variety of other tasks.

I’m looking for someone with weekend availability for anywhere between 3 to 10 hours.  You must be reliable (no canceling last minute!), punctual, and able to behave yourself at a formal event :)  No photography experience is necessary, but interest in photography is required.  Please note, however, that this is not a shooting position.  There may be some light shooting involved occasionally, but this is primarily an assisting job.  Starting out, this will be strictly for wedding photography, but may expand into other event and portrait work.

I’d prefer to work with someone I know – whether I’ve worked with you before, photographed you before, or just know you personally.  If you are interested, email me to get details about schedules and pay rates, and to discuss if you’re a good fit!

Lauren + Ben – Married!

There is something amazing about photographing a small wedding.  Somehow it’s different than weddings with 200 or more guests, where you can easily blend in and go virtually unnoticed.  But small weddings just feel different.  At a small wedding, you know that every guest there was hand selected to witness this important moment, and that you are likely the only one that doesn’t know the bride and groom on a very personal level.

With only 35 guests in attendance, Lauren and Ben were married this past Saturday at the Ritz Carlton in Downtown Denver.  The ceremony was short and sweet, the reception intimate and lively.  And even though I hadn’t met the couple until a few hours before their ceremony, I felt honored to be present for such a private and emotional day.

Many thanks to Krista of Artessa Photography for bringing me along to second shoot this wedding.  Congratulations Lauren and Ben!

[...] and I’ll say it again – I just love being a part of small, intimate weddings.  (Like this one, and this one, and this one, just to name a few!)  I’m honored to have been a part of [...]

St. Louis Spring Portrait Week!

June 1-8, 2011 will be this year’s Spring Portrait Week!

If you are interested in having family portraits taken while I’m in St. Louis, contact me for scheduling details.  There are a limited number of slots available, and a $50 deposit is required to hold your time slot.  Spots filled quickly last year, so plan early.

If you are interested in boudoir, I will be scheduling sessions on Sunday June 5th.

Looking forward to seeing some of my favorite St. Louis families!
