Sexy Little Bride indeed. Just a few shots from Miss M’s session last weekend. Keeping it under wraps until her groom to be gets to see.
More boudoir sessions to follow!

Somehow, Summer disappeared. John and I had been so looking forward to returning to warm, sunny Denver (after hanging out in freezing cold Yellowstone for a few days and sleeping in 28 degree weather.) But the warm sunny weather seems to have left Denver, at least for the moment. I wasn’t quite ready for this fall weather, but at least it has brought with it the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Not all bad.
Fortunately, we did this family shoot before I left town, when the weather was a bit warmer. Although it was quite windy that day, and a huge thunderstorm loomed in the distance for the entire shoot. Ah, Colorado weather. Kris, Sabria and Kienna were all super patient with me as we waited for the wind to die down, and even the pups behaved pretty well when they had to wait for us. I suppose the treats had something to do with that :)
Happy (rainy and cold) Wednesday!
Before this summer, I had never camped (at least not since I was old enough to remember.) But for some reason, we decided a week-long camping trip in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks would be a fun adventure. In preparation, we took a single overnight camping trip with a few friends a few weeks ago, and then set off for seven days on our own.
As it turns out, car camping is very similar to backpacking/hosteling, with the exception that while camping you can actually pay $2 to get a hot shower (unlike many third world countries we’ve visited.) The bed is more comfortable, too. So despite having little to no direct camping experience, our trip went off without a hitch. We enjoyed the fresh mountain air, took a long 75 mile bike ride, floated on the lake in a canoe, and wandered the geological sights of Yellowstone. It was a great, relaxing trip.
Here are a few images of the rocky Tetons and explosive Yellowstone. (The last one was taken on my iPhone, so the image quality is a little lower than usual.) I hope everyone had a happy Labor Day Weekend!
I don’t really fit in at a 5 Star hotel. I feel too young to leave my car with valet, out of place in what I’m wearing, and generally too poor to be loitering around the grounds. Fortunately, no one at The Broadmoor hotel seemed to mind that I didn’t quite fit in.
We took Lisa and Ryan’s engagement photos on the grounds of The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs last weekend. People must take portraits there all of the time, because the staff was incredibly helpful and not at all surprised to see us, and nearly everyone else completely tuned us out. I’m not surprised they have photographers around frequently – the grounds are quite lovely.
Lisa and Ryan are getting married next summer in Larkspur. Congrats to them on their engagement!
The class of 2012 has already started their senior year of high school. (I refuse to let that make me feel old.) Jake and Damian are friends who go to school together at Chatfield High School. They weren’t too thrilled about having their senior photos taken (boys rarely are), but were nothing but cooperative during the process. It helped that we could do their sessions together so they each had some moral support when I made them pose in weird places :)
Best of luck to these guys for the upcoming school year!
