The beer bottles were empty. I noticed it straight away while photographing the tables and decor at Deb and David’s wedding. That’s curious, I thought, normally people give custom bottles with beer in them. Odd. Not until David stood up to give a speech did I hear the back story of the empty beer bottles.
You see, David is part owner of a small brewery, and he and Deb thought they’d make a special brew to give away as wedding favors. They brewed the beer, bottled it up, and a few months later decided to taste it. The result: awful. Apparently it was so terrible, David decided they would be better off pouring out the beer and just giving the empty bottles away as gifts :)
Fortunately, Deb and David’s wedding went far more smoothly than the brewing process of their specialty beer. They had an intimate brunch wedding at Three Trees Chapel in Littleton. I loved that even though this was a more low-key event, they still cut the cake, gave toasts, and did a first dance. I also love that David’s tie had photos of his grandkids printed on it – they couldn’t be there in person, but they were there in spirit. Congrats to you Deb and David – I wish you many happy years ahead!
