Thinking about boudoir? Everything you’ve wanted to ask about boudoir photography:
Who are you? I am (in my opinion) the most non-threatening person you could probably have for a boudoir photographer. I’m female, I’m married, and I’m not a size two. There is no reason to be afraid of or intimidated by me. I promise.
What if I’m nervous? Totally normal. That’s what the champagne is for. Or a few deep breaths. The nerves pass after about 10 minutes regardless – you’ll be having too much fun to be nervous.
How will I know what to wear? I’ve done lots of these shoots, and I know what works. I’ll give you plenty of suggestions for great outfits to bring (and what to steer clear of!) The day of the shoot I’ll help you sort through everything you’ve brought and pick the best stuff that will help you look and feel gorgeous.
How many outfits can I wear? In an hour long session we can usually get to 4 or 5 outfits. You should always bring extra so you have options to choose from.
How many photos will you take? More than you would expect. But you’ll only see the ones that make you look amazing. On average, I usually deliver around 75-100 images from each shoot.
Do I have to know how to pose? Nope. I know how to pose you to get great images. If you want to let out your inner fashion model and do your own thing, that’s encouraged. Have fun with it. But know that if you haven’t a clue about how pose it won’t be a problem. I’ll help make you look amazing.
Do you retouch images? Only very slightly. I give the images a little attention to be sure you look your best. But I don’t do “airbrushing”or “digital liposuction.” Your images will look like you – not some plastic version of yourself. If you want me to do additional retouching, I can, but no one has ever found it necessary.
What if I don’t like my (fill in body part)? Most people have something about their body that they feel a little self conscious about. I can always avoid certain angles to play down whatever it is you don’t like, but I prefer to focus on what you DO like. Or what your man likes. I’m going to pay attention to what you love about your body rather than what you hate about it, and I’d advise you to do the same.
Will you post my images online? I have a very specific model release that allows you to determine exactly how I share your images online. It is helpful for me if you are willing to have some of your images posted because prospective clients like to see samples of my work. But if you don’t feel comfortable with anything being posted, that is just fine. The option is left to you, and I never post anything without permission.
What will my husband/fiancee/boyfriend think? That he is one lucky man.
