The Arens Family

Bubbles are awesome.  Since the last time I photographed him, one year old Noah has come to realize this.  He spent the evening pushing his bubbling lawn mower, chasing bubbles, and standing in awe of the bubbles his parents and older brother Jonathan blew in his direction.  Of course, bubbles are hard to resist, so the whole family was in on the bubble blowing (including a small bubble war between Kevin and Sarah.)

When the bubbles ran out there were many other toys and games to keep everyone occupied and Noah smiling.  And of course a we did a few posed shots to document the family (just a few.)  All in all it was pretty adorable – a Wednesday evening in the park well spent.

[...] Lucas.  He’s the newest addition to this family.  He’s tiny.  Teeny tiny.  Technically, he was right at 4 weeks old for this shoot, but [...]

Wow! Your work is amazing! I love checking out other photographers for inspiration. Keep up the good work!

Kelly + Joe – The Knot

I’m still in St. Louis until next week, but I just got to see what The Knot published of Kelly and Joe’s wedding and thought I’d share.  I heard they were publishing this wedding back in January, but I never know exactly which photos they’ll end up using.  It’s always fun to see the final result printed.

Congrats again to Kelly and Joe – the spread looks great!  To see more of their wedding, visit HERE.  The magazine is on news stands now!

Beautiful work Tracy! What a gorgeous feature. Congrats, well deserved!

Off to St. Louis!

We’re off this morning for a week-long visit to St. Louis!  I’ll be doing 8 portrait sessions while I’m there, and we’re having our engagement portraits done as well.  Finally there will be more than just one good photo of John and I :)  I’ll be checking email and voicemail while I’m gone, I just might be a little slower than usual.  Back in Denver on June 16th!

Lindsay + Austin – Married!

The bride wore snakeskin shoes.  The groom wore a pink tie.  It was an event 12 years in the making.

Lindsay and Austin met when they were just 11 years old, and they were married Saturday at the the Phipps Mansion in Denver. Keri Doolittle was the primary photographer, and she asked me to come along as her second photographer for the day.  It’s been years since I’ve been a second shooter, and I was pleased to re-discover how much fun it is.  As the second shooter you get to play – trying different angles and lighting – and you don’t have to worry about portraits, the processional, or staying in the most central position during the ceremony.  It’s far less pressure, and always fun to watch another photographer work.

The result, of course, is that I took far fewer photos, seeing as I was not the primary shooter at the event.  But here are some of the favorites from Saturday’s wedding.  Thanks, Keri, for bringing me along!

Hey Tracy! It’s Katie… the other shooter from Sat. I LOVE your stuff!! I wanted to come see Lindsay and Austin’s shots and have been looking around for a while now at ALL your shots!! :) I hope we can work together again sometime! Or at least I hope to run into you at more Smug meetings!

BEAUTIFUL images!!! Great job and THANK YOU for helping me out! :-)

Dave + Sadie

Like most of us, Dave is multidimensional.  He has a corporate side – suit, tie, jacket.  Serious accountant Dave.  But then he has his casual side – jeans, baseball cap, tennis shoes.  Happy dog owner Dave.

We combined both sides into one for his portrait shoot yesterday.  Dave had photos of him alone, so I thought Sadie should get some, too.  She’s just so darn cute.

Love that shot with the dog in the tall grass! See… this is what I miss about Missouri (I know you’re in CO, but it’s the same feel).

:)

Great contrast between the business side and at home…
