Stokesbury Family

Did you have a Happy Halloween? We don’t get Trick-or-Treater’s at our house, so I had to fill my need to see cute kids on Halloween with a portrait session :)

Somehow we evaded the dreaded Halloween Snowstorm this year (I thought it was a Colorado tradition??)  Instead we had beautiful sunshine and gorgeous fall leaves – perfect for my session with the Stokesbury family.  Seven month old Anna, her parents Sarah and Sean, and her Uncle Mark all got together for some portraits on Sunday.  Their pup even joined in for a few shots.  So cute.

Happy Monday!

Ashley + Donald – Married!

An hour before the ceremony was slated to begin, poor Donald had his wedding ring stuck on his finger.

It was my fault, really.  We took portraits before the ceremony, and I’d asked Ashley and Donald to put the rings on a little early so we could be sure to get the ring shot.  All went according to plan until Donald tried to slip the ring back off.  It was thoroughly stuck.  Apparently Donald recently had surgery on his knuckles, which made them more sensitive to swelling, and his ring finger was highly resistant.  View full post »

10.10.10 Boudoir Marathon

Shooting boudoir gets more fun every time.  The more work I’m able to show potential clients, the more comfortable they feel when they show up for their sessions.  It’s only natural, so it’s caused me to start posting just a few more images than I used to.  So here are so favorites from this weekend’s marathon session.  Everything here is posted with permission, of course.  Seven girls participated in the marathon day, and it was amazing.  The next marathon day will likely be in January, just in time for Valentine’s Day.  If you’re interested in seeing more boudoir work, email me.  Have a great weekend!

One Month Left

Our wedding is just one month away – time for a quick update!  I’ve been procrastinating on planning stuff for a while, but a big push last week got a lot of things crossed off my to-do list.  We did our tasting/walk-through, met with the officiant about our ceremony, I had my first dress fitting, completed my hair and makeup trials, John found a suit…we got a LOT done.  Still lingering is centerpieces, music selections, welcome bag assembly, and some other fairly minor details, but I’m confident we’ll get it done.  Oh yeah, and the whole knowing who is coming thing (RSVP deadline is today, hint hint.)

So while my wedding is drawing near, the amount of time I have left to shoot engagement sessions and family portraits is dwindling.  If you’re still wanting to schedule anything before the holidays, please get in touch soon.  My calendar is filling up quickly.

In case you never saw any of our engagment photos, taken by the lovely Charlotte Geary, here is one of my favorites.  Happy Wednesday!

Casebolt Family

Fall suddenly turned cold this weekend – did you feel it?  The Casebolt family certainly did.  We took their photos at a family member’s house up in Evergreen on Saturday, and with the whipping winds it was chilly.  Poor kiddos were freezing!  They were troopers though, and we managed to get some great images before everyone’s nose started running from the cold :)

On a side note, the drive through Indian Hills to Evergreen was completely gorgeous.  All the leaves turning, bright blue sky…made me a little sad that I live in the city and don’t get to see that much nature these days.  I should have stopped to take photos – I guess instead I’ll just have to get out of the house a bit more this month to enjoy the real thing :)  Happy Tuesday!
